W-Boy: No Google-fu*. Just IQ-fu. Can anybody guess how I figured out the painter?

(Ok, I watch too much Discovery/ National Geographic/ History Channel, and I saw a program about this painting a couple of months ago. But that's not how I remembered the painter...)

*Except the frenh title. That was googled, but that was easy when I knew the artist.
