Exhibit A

Check it, check it; the CERN Posse made a rap about the Large Hadron Collider.

Makes Vanilla Ice look like Eminem, and is the prosecution's exhibit A on why popularization of science should be done with some sense and taste.

Embracing another form of communication than the standard venues does not necessarily result in a less than abysmal outcome, as this video illustrates beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Booyakasha!
Don't know about y'all, but the only thing this video makes me want to do is go grab those geeks' lunch money.

Man, that was embarrassing. I couldn't even watch the whole thing, and that was with the sound muted!

It just shows that rap should be banned.

....interesting logic sequence you've come up with there, Chief

Still; if they think that having a bunch of nerdy white people perform a piss-poor educational rap is any way to make scientists appear less nerdy, I call Epic Fail

Yeah, that's one way of putting it. Just applying my creationist logic here.

Yes, I agree. It just proves that science should be banned.

Man, I'm not in the mood for being serious today. But I'll give it a try anyway: Somewhere in the 90's or 80's, somebody discovered that making something into a rap would automatically make it sound cool. Despite contradictory evidences (your example and some horrible commercials comes to mind), there are still people that hold this to be true. Unfortunatly, nerdy sciencists aren't known for being hip and up to date on what's in, so the odds are large fraction of scientists are amongst those people.

Luckily, we still have LL cool A and Grandmaster W around to prove that you can be into both science and rap in a cool way...
