Learing to play guitar again

I decided to pick up the guitar again, and this instructional video looks to be appropriate for my level of playing...

Any bass players out there? :-D

Edit:
One more video, the classic powerballade More Then Words, with some interesting behind the scene shots.

Have a nice weekend, y'all!

Yeah, I've decided to swith to bass...
:-D

Well, with the loft-thingy the house is a mess and my guitar stuff is stashed away, and the new side bidniss takes a lot of time, so it hasn't been much playing the last couple of months. But when my loft is finished I do have plans..

Sucktitude

...you know; if you had a decent solid-body electric guitar you could play that sucker unplugged while you watch TV and/or cry yourself to sleep due to the loft situation

Hey! I recent that!

Btw, I loved the grunge comment in the video. :-D

...it was cool, but it went on for too long perhaps?

Well, it had to last as long as the song. Could have had a few more really good jokes, though.

...plans to purchase an electric solidbody with more player-friendly features?

Still considering the options. 24-3/4" scale length amd a fat neck, round or soft V-shape. That's fer sure.
Doesn't that sound player friendly?

Wilhelm said...

Doesn't look very shred-friendly, I'll tell you that much. What kind of axes are you considering? Not the godawful Billy-Bo Gretsch thing I hope?

....you're thinkin' about an Ibanez JS1200, aren't ya?

Not excatly. Funny how something you write easily could be misinterpreted...
:-)

..are you suggesting that my reading comprehension isn't all it could be?

With all respect to the Reverend, but when he plays that Gretsch, he has a lousy tone compare to most other of his guitars.

If I was going down the Billy G. road, this is more interesting. I like the 24-3/4" scale, and I've been thinking about a Tele with a 24-3/4" scale. But at 5 grand USD?

Wilhelm said...

..no way does a Tele - even a US standard - cost anywhere in the vicinity of five large ones

All I'm saying is that with your mind reading skills, I wouldn't sing up for "Den Sjette Sansen" on TV Norge in the near future...
;-)

A John Bolin Super Model does. But a standard Tele? Not even half.

Wilhelm said...

...buy a Fender US Tele or a G&L one...

Honestly I think you'd enjoy a non-tele more though. Some form of strat or *shudder* Les Paul
