The Dirt by Motley Crue

One of the funniest book I've ever read: The autobiography of the autoproclamed most famous rock band of all time (ha ha ha) : Motley Crüe.

I will not say much about this book except that it's a fantastic one. The 4 members of the band (Nicky Six, Mick Mars, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee) are so stupid that they become lovable. Definitely a must that you must read. Strange though that it's not in the list of the 1001 books you should read before you die.

Totally agree - this is a must-read, regardless of whether you like Motley Crue's music.

The book is narrated from all the band members' perspectives, as well as from one of their managers, and it would form a great foundation for a psychological treatment of _insert fancy expression for how a set of events are experienced and interpreted differently within a small population here_. From a bird's eye view, it is absolutely astonishing that these people are describing the same events.

The only thing that I felt was overhyped about the book was the level of excess pertaining anything outside drug consumption (which admittedly is way impressive/alarming in the case of Mothery Crue). Compared to "Hammer Of The Gods" (about the Gods of Hype - Led Zeppelin), Motley Crue were quite well-behaved.
