GQ5: Jumping the Shark - Round 1

Since I've recorded enough songs for a new quiz, we might as well get started up in heah'. It should be mentioned that this is an excellent opportunity for anyone who might like to join. There will be many genres and eras represented, so I don't think there's any particular bias going on - unless you're exclusively listening to jazz or classical, in which case you're thoroughly screwed.

Submit your answers to mfactorquiz (at) gmail.com by the end of Monday120108. Each song holds the potential of two points - one point for artist and one point for the song. Answers will be posted on Tuesday 120208.

A good start. It's all classic tunes, with a distinc guitar style that should be recongized. I would say that the recordings eclipses the original tunes in virtuose guitar technique and flawless execution.

How many bonus points this round?

Wilhelm said...

....not so many, I'm sorry to say.

Does that mean I'm off your Christmas card list?

Isn't it punishment enough to be on that list?

Those who listen to jazz music are screwed anyway. Greetings from the Norwegian jazz capital.

Ain't that the truth. Goatees and John Lennon glasses are only kewl up until a certain point

After listning to the tracks, it seems that I'm in the "exclusively listening to jazz or classical"-group... Now, where did I put those John Lennon glasses...

Wilhelm said...

...are you serious? Even the fourth one?

Anders said...

Yes, I'm serious. The even fourth one does not sound like any jazz or classical piece I know.

Wilhelm said...

What kind of classical music do you usually listen to?

Anders said...

The kind that Little Einsteins are playing.

Wilhelm said...

What in the blue hell are you talking about?

Anders said...

You'll get that joke in a couple of years...
:-D

Wilhelm said...

..is it some kind of infernal teletubby-concept? :(

Anders said...

Worse. It's Disney's ultra-PC and educational kids show.

I suspect Wilhelm to forget to rename the songs when he's done recording them. So when he sends them to Anders, they're not that difficult to find for him.

Balls swinger

..so you attribute Anders' final placing in the last quiz solely to the hypothesis of his being dyslexic? :-)

Moreover, that was the olden ways. I put the songs on my server by my very lonesome now...through the magic of ftp

LOL
Hey, I laying it up for you. A simple "yes" from you would have done a much better job against conspirators.
