The Eiffel Tower is way overrated

...at least according to the Telegraph, which reports that the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre are the two most disappointing sights/tourist spots around the world.

Those chaps from the Telegraph haven't been to Norway, then, I presume...

I also saw that The Pyramids where number 8 of the most disappointing sights. Well, I've seen them, and I don't think I've been more impressed by any other buildings. What more can you ask for?

Whaddoyamean; the pyramids ain't got nuthin' on Fantoft studentby, I tells ya.

Besides - the entire point here was to rag on da french. Pray do partake, for 'tis jolly good fun.

Well, you shouldn't pick on the frenchies, W. It's not considered very nice to kick a man that's already laying down. I've been up in the Eiffel tower, and did you noticed how I didn't mentioned that it had an unfair rating on the Telegraph's list? I mean, if the French believes that some rusty old train rails stack up together is a tourist attraction, then let them have that. I mean, when you go on a steady diet of frogs and snails (have you noticed how we in Norway have a problem with brown snails in your gardens, but in France they haven't?), you are not very well fed and it's easy to start hallucinating. And don't get me starting on that old painting of the lady with the sagging smile. Since when are bad craftsmanship considered a tourist attraction? Leonardo could at least have used decent paint and canvas, so we could see how that lady really was. For all I know, she might even been good looking.

But at least Paris has one tourist attraction that exceeds it's expectations: The high prices on crappy goods along the Champs Élysées...

(Good enough for you, W?)

Now that's what I'm talkin' about - nice goin', Anders.

And I forgot: The french got their own kind of pizza, tarte flambe (spelling?) which will make the Italian pizza you love so much seem to have a thick crust and generous toppings...

This post would be twice as much fun if some of the frosted frenchies contributed...

Ain't that the truth. They need to get with the program and realize that the word "overrated" seldom signifies something good.
