I could partly understand it if he was melting down in order to create free publicity for a tell-all book, Karita Veggimellom-style.
This, however, is simply indiscriminate, bad economic sense-meltdown, as he can't expect to get free publicity for the same confidential stories and accusations twice.
This just seemed appropriate now... :-D
