    ..have to agree there.

    There is another version/recording where the guitar tone is fatter, no? Or is it just a re-engineered one?

    Well, the whole album is remixed in the ZZ Top's Sixpack version to make it sound more "80's" after the Tops huge hits on Eliminator. Whether it's better/ fatter, is up for debate...
