...but as close as I'm likely to get within the confines of my taste in music.
At the very least it's played with a clean(ish) sound and at a relaxed tempo. This is one of my favorite chord progressions: Bm - Bm/A - Bm/G - F#, which also just happens to be one of the progressions often used in the music of Yngwie Malmsteen.
Imagine that.
The melody is in the key of *shock* B harmonic minor, in the unlikely event that any readers of this blog would be interested in laying down their own tracks to this fantastic progression

ReplyDeleteWhat a coincident! Who would have thought that!
Would be cool to hear if you build more around this track, though.
..you mean thematically, or in terms of layers?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking layers, but thematically would be cool too. Now that you mentioned it.
ReplyDelete:-D
Actually I like the simplicity of one semi-clean track only for this melody line. I tried some countermelodies and stuff when I recorded this, but to my mind - albeit just one white man's opinion - additional layers cluttered the tune.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a more Yngwie-esque instrumental over the same progression at the moment though. The new one will have bass, one rhythm track and the lead, in addition to a guest performance by my spectacular drummer
additional layers cluttered the tune.
ReplyDeleteYes, that was my thought as well. I really liked the dynamics of the song, adn thought that the quiter parts shouldn't be filled up with sounds. So I was a bit curious of what you would have done to it. If you would add more to it.
In any case, I know we both agree that adding foot-tapping and harmonic is never wrong.
:-D
...tapping and harmonics always add to a song, I agree with that :-D
ReplyDeleteDamn. Epic mispelled joke fail...
ReplyDelete..height it when that happens
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteGood one, gov.
