That was really bad. In fact, the difference was so bad that I wanted the vocalist in One Republic to shut the f up at times, 'cause he just ruined it for the Idol-dude.
.....they both sucked in my book. More to the point; any singer who has to resort to prolonged strains of "Whoohooooooooyyeeeeaaaaaaaahhh" when they've got a single-song set is a phantasmogorgical waste of oxygen within the confines of their present profession, and should immediately proceed to find something more meaningful to do with their time.
For the American Idol contestant, this can perhaps be excused due to lack of experience. For an actual recording and touring artist, it's a telltale sign of epic douchebaggery.
The idol dude was pretty uneven. I thought he as really good in some parts, but overall, a good one for Idol. But again, I feel that the all those Idol concepts really doesn't have any thing to do with music. Can't say that I've heard anybody from that concept that really blew me away (granted, I've mostly heard the Norwegian version, but still).
